This product is a membrane preparation from insect cells infected with baculovirus containing human MDR1 (P-gp) cDNA

Human P-gp (MDR1) is an ATP-dependent efflux pump that is capable of transporting many drugs across cell membranes. High level expression of this protein is also linked to tumor resistance to chemotherapy.

Application: used to measure drug-stimulated vanadate-sensitive ATPase activity. A method to perform a colorimetric ATPase assay in 96-well plates is provided in the batch data sheet.
