The CrystalDirect™ plate is an ideal support for crystal growth, in situ XRD, serial data collection and in situ soaking experiments. It is particularly well suited for work with microcrystals, where low background scattering is essential.

in situ X-ray diffraction

The CrystalDirect™ plate is a 96-well vapor diffusion crystallization plate that uses an ultrathin film as crystallization support (25 micron and lower). It provides extremely low x-ray background for diffraction measurements and high transparency to both visible and UV light for drop inspection.

*An ultrathin top sealing film is also provided to further reduce background scattering.

CrystalDirect Plate Automated Crystal Harvesting

The CrystalDirect™ plate is compatible with standard crystallization robots and imagers. Furthermore, in combination with the ARINAX CrystalDirect® harvester robot the CrystalDirect™ plates enable fully automated crystal harvesting and cryocooling.

CrystalDirect® is able to harvest protein crystals from 96-well CrystalDirectTM plates by means of laser photoablation. The protein crystals are directly mounted on a SPINE compatible sample pin. Then, they are placed into a cryo-stream and made available to be transferred into a cryostorage (manually or via sample changer robot).
